Privacy policy

Effective 2 August 2026 · Applies to the Rebuild Mode app and this website

The short version

Rebuild Mode exists for one of the most personal periods of a life, and it is built accordingly. You can use the app without telling us who you are. We do not sell your data, we do not build advertising profiles, and the words you write in your journal or to the coach are never used for analytics. When you delete your account, your data goes with it.

Who we are

Rebuild Mode operates this website (rebuildmode.app) and the Rebuild Mode mobile app. For anything in this policy, contact hello@rebuildmode.app.

This website

The website is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics scripts and has no accounts or forms. It is served through Amazon Web Services (CloudFront), which processes standard technical data — such as your IP address and browser type — in short-lived server logs used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

What the app collects

You can start anonymously: the app creates a random account identifier with no name or email attached. If you later choose to connect an email address so your data can follow you to a new device, that email is added to the same account.

To run your programme, the app stores what you put into it:

  • Your onboarding answers — separation stage, living situation, available time, and your scores across the six life areas
  • Your parenting schedule and any date overrides
  • Optional details about your children, limited to a nickname and an age range you choose — never full names or dates of birth
  • Your daily actions, check-ins, wins and progress
  • Journal entries you write
  • Your conversations with the accountability coach
  • Notification preferences, timezone and device settings

What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent your data to anyone
  • We do not build advertising profiles or show ads
  • Journal entries and coach conversations are never used for analytics, marketing or product metrics
  • Product analytics, where used, cover events (such as “action completed”) — never the content of what you wrote, your children’s details or your assessment answers

The AI coach

When you message the coach, your message and the minimum necessary context (such as your current programme week and whether it is a parenting day) are sent through our secure backend to an AI language-model provider to generate a reply. The coach is not a therapist, doctor or lawyer, and if a conversation signals real danger it stops coaching and points to real-world help. You can delete coach conversations at any time, and the app works fully without the coach.

Where your data lives and how it is protected

App data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security, meaning your records are accessible only to your account. Data is encrypted in transit. We keep logging to the minimum needed to run the service, and sensitive content — journals, coach messages, children’s nicknames — is excluded from logs.

Deletion and retention

You can delete individual journal entries and coach conversations in the app, and you can delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings with one confirmation. We keep your data only while your account exists.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, export and erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact hello@rebuildmode.app to exercise any of these. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Rebuild Mode is for adults. The only information about children in the system is the optional nickname and age range a parent chooses to add, used solely to personalise their own plan.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so clearly in the app and on this page, with the effective date updated above.
